Floral Maternity Session

For months I have been dreaming of a maternity session with beautiful gowns, beautiful mommas-to-be, beautiful vintage furniture, and lots of beautiful flowers. Something elegant and simple. I wanted the florals and the belly bumps to be the statements, so I spoke with some of my favorite friendors. The planning began, and together we turned my dreams into reality.

We had 2 amazingly gorgeous women as models. One hadn't even announced her pregnancy, and the other had spent the entire night before in the hospital having contractions. {I spent the entire day worried I would be photographing a birth!} My absolute favorite makeup artist, Shaterra Jenkins, worked her magic, and turned the already gorgeous mommas-to-be stunningly beautiful for the photos!

In the studio {Something Old Dayton's Loft}, we had 3 sets ready to go. A gorgeous vintage pink settee settled in front of a clean white wall, a fantastic cream vintage sofa with blue flowers in the corner against the industrial feel of the beautiful large windows, and a one-of-a-kind hand-painted pink backdrop from Verdigris Backdrops.

All of the sets were completed using the 2 dazzling floral installations from Sherwood Florist. They were really beyond what I had in my mind. Jessie is by far one of the most talented florists, and created these stunning, organic, installations as well as 2 exquisite bouquets for us to use.

All that was left was what to wear. I decided on 3 different styles of gowns. A unique 2-piece gown designed by the brilliant Dalliance Bespoke. It was perfect to showcase the pure beauty of the growing belly bump. We also used 2 pink gowns, as well as a pink overskirt from my client closet. The first was an elegant pink gown for when you are looking for a chic, luxurious look. The second was a fitted pink gown with a long split train for when you really want to accentuate your new curves.

This day was beyond amazing. Beyond anything that I could have ever dreamed possible. I love being able to take my ideas and turn them into reality. I love showing how beautiful, strong, and confident women are as we are carrying a new life. I love unveiling their beauty in a time many women don't feel beautiful.

I want to say thank you to all of the incredible friendors who helped to make this day happen. I couldn't have done it without you, and your talents.

Now what should I conjure up next?
