Get ready!

Never had a baby? Never experienced a true, luxury newborn session? Ready to look and feel comfortable in front of the camera after having a baby?

This guide is here to help you plan for your session. There is nothing scarier than the unknown, so let's help ease some of those fears.

Here's all the details to capture this moment now so that you can pass them down to your new baby when they get older!

The Signature Session includes access to all props/layers/textures/wraps/outfits/hats/headbands, access to our studio wardrobe with plenty of gorgeous gowns to wear, and as much time as you need with me the day of {most newborn sessions last 3-4 hours}. This day is about your baby, and I work hard to make sure you don't feel rushed, or leave wishing we had done anything more.

Consultation and Planning Your Session

After your initial inquiry, we set up a consultation. This allows us to discuss all the details of the session, and helps me see your vision. At the consultation, you will also be able to see and feel the differences in all of the products offered, allowing you to start to determine your favorites.  I have a large variety of props/textures/etc, and you can choose any of them! After you have booked your session on the calendar, you will receive various emails to help you prepare for the day. You are not in this alone. I am here to help you every step of the way!

Professional Hair And Makeup

Professional hair and makeup is not included in the session, but is an encouraged add-on. I aim for celebrity-inspired looks that bring your best features to the forefront, like fake eyelashes and contouring to bring out your eyes and cheekbones, while still being able to see YOU in the images. The artist and I are there to make sure you don't have to worry about how you will look in the photos. We will be there to pamper you and make you look and feel beautiful.

Important: Please let me know if you are allergic to ingredients or products, and feel free to bring your own to the studio. Likewise, if you have tried-and-true products for sensitive skin, curly hair, or literally anything else, don’t forget to pack them!

Your Session

My newborn sessions are completely baby led, so your baby is always the star of the show! These sessions are best held within the first 2 weeks after they are born, and I try to schedule them between days 4-8. During the session, we will use a minimum of 2 fabric backdrops, 2 styled prop sets, a composited image, and a variety of parent/sibling/family poses. I am there to help pose you with easy-to-follow instructions. You don't have to worry about where to look, or what to do with your hands. That is what I am there for!

The Reveal

About 1-2 weeks after our shoot wraps up, you’re invited back to the studio to view your soft-proofed images and place your product order. These images are not fully retouched, but you will have an idea of what the final images will look like. Together, we’ll review your images, choose your must-haves, and pair them with your favorite products. Prior to your shoot day, we will talk about what you want to do with your photos. Do you have your heart set on an album, wood prints, or something different? These talks will help us when we’re ordering your products.

Planning your products is just as important as planning your wardrobe. These images are works of art, and are meant to be treated as such. Although I do include a complimentary digital image with each piece of wall art, or image you put into your album or collection box, I do not offer only digital images.

My most popular products are my collection boxes, albums {starting at $3900 and $2500 respectively with 15 images}, and my wood prints {starting at $450 for an 8x10}.
