Your new baby grows so quickly, especially that first month. It's important to capture those tiny details and squishy baby rolls. To get all the cute poses, the best time for a newborn session is between 4-10 days old in the studio. Knowing your babies schedule, most newborn sessions are scheduled before 10 am. Your session will include a variety of photos on the beanbag, as well as images posed in props. You will get to choose the color schemes and props if you would like, or you can leave that up to me! Your baby will be the star of the session, and will control the poses and timing. If your new baby doesn't seem to like a pose, we don't do it. If they need to stop for a snack, we take a break. If they need some cuddles, we cuddle. If they like being wrapped, we wrap. Not only is your baby the star, but their safety is the top priority. Your baby is never more than an arms length away.

"During our very first session, which was supposed to be a maternity session, but ended up being a newborn one thanks to someone's early arrival, lol! I was exhausted & overwhelmed. I knew we were technically on a time limit, which stressed me even more, because my kids just want to be kids & run around exploring the whole studio or getting in the shot when they weren't supposed to be. Then the baby was hungry, then he peed, just utter chaos! But you were so calm & so patient & soothing. You found ways for the older boys to "help you" which kept them quiet & still. You assured me that it was not only ok, but helpful to break & nurse the baby, you laughed & said it's not a real newborn session if they're aren't bodily fluids getting on something, lol. You didn't rush us or remind us of the time (& yes, I've had a photographer do that in a very rude manner before), you even asked at the end if there were any other poses that we specifically wanted & were extremely accommodating with what we did want. This is just our first shoot. I could literally point out small, but equally huge things from every one of our sessions, like in my last newborn session... We actually forgot a pose we had requested, & during editing Dorothy caught it & actually called us back in to get it! That was HUGE to me! Ok, I'm rambling on. Lol. But I LOVE our sessions with Dorothy!"
